Jordi Ribas, Ph.D., is Corporate Vice President at Microsoft and leads the AI Products organization, which includes the product teams responsible for Bing and Cortana worldwide. Bing and Cortana are used by over 400 million people every month and are integrated in other Microsoft products such as Windows and Office. Bing search services are also part of products of many partners including Amazon, AOL, Apple, and Yahoo.
Since 2008, Dr. Ribas has led multiple PM and engineering teams focused on improving Bing’s search quality and growing user engagement and market share. Prior to search, Dr. Ribas led engineering and business teams in the US and Japan that delivered digital media software for Windows Media, Xbox and CE products. Before joining Microsoft, he worked in the digital video department at Sharp Laboratories of America, WA, and also worked as a researcher in NTT, Japan.
Dr. Ribas has published over 50 technical publications including 25 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, 20 granted U.S. patents and many standards contributions. He holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in signal processing and artificial intelligence.
